The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) will gain early access and insights to some of Australia’s most innovative digital and connected health solutions after signing a partnership with ANDHealth, Australia’s leading digital health commercialisation company.

The partnership will see ANDHealth receive valuable frontline insights on what clinicians and health providers need from technology while the RMH will ensure their technology keeps pace with their patient care by having independent expert advice on new and emerging technologies.

ANDHealth work closely with more than 970 digital and connected healthcare companies as well as international partners to provide a holistic and up to date perspective on practical and developing health technology solutions. They also administer non-dilutive grant funding and mentoring programs, including programs funded through the Medical Research Future Fund.

The RMH is their first hospital system core partner, joining RMIT University, Telstra Health, Planet Innovation, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), Curve Tomorrow, HPM Executive and HLTH-Community.

Professor Shelley Dolan, Chief Executive at the RMH, said the partnership will drive innovation in digital health for the hospital in an effective and evidence-based way.

“As a major trauma hospital, we are constantly looking to innovate and develop resources for our staff and patients,” Professor Dolan said. “We’re delighted to be partnering with ANDHealth, who reflect the growing importance of the digital agenda in improving equity of access to excellent healthcare.

“ANDHealth’s role as our ‘Innovation Partner’ ensures we will have access to pre-qualified, cutting-edge solutions, while allowing us to focus on what we do best—delivering exceptional care.”

ANDHealth Chief Executive Officer, Bronwyn Le Grice, praised the RMH for their innovative thinking and approach to modernising healthcare.

“The potential for digital and connected healthcare solutions to drive better patient outcomes and improve productivity and efficiency has been spoken about for some time. By partnering with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we can accelerate the translation of cutting edge technologies to the frontline of care delivery and transform potential into reality,” Ms Le Grice said.
