Voice to Parliament Information Session

October 5, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm AEDT

The Voice to Parliament referendum will take place on Saturday 14 October. Australians will have the right to vote on a proposed law to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.

Voters will have an important decision to make at the referendum. This information session will provide an opportunity for voters to make a considered decision with the most informed understanding possible.

Gadens will present on the Voice to Parliament’s past, present, and future, discussing:

1. The history of advocacy that has led to the referendum, to understand the consideration and collaboration involved in reaching this point.
2. The process of a referendum to understand exactly what will be required of voters, and what is needed for the referendum to be successful.
3. The implications of a successful referendum for Parliament, First Nations Peoples, and Australia as a whole.

Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for attendees to engage in guided Q&A and open discussion.
