The Opportunity
As a Cancer Biology Specialist, you will provide input and advice on our client’s cancer biology programs to help inform commercial and research decisions. Working closely with internal researchers and external CROs, you will:
- Lead and manage outsourced biology research programs, particularly in cancer pharmacology
- Design and oversee in vitro and in vivo studies, including animal cancer models, dosing regimens, and biomarker tracking.
- Interpret and communicate scientific data to internal teams and external collaborators.
- Collaborate with external service providers and prepare project proposals and presentations.
- Support the development of marketing and scientific materials based on biological data.
- Contribute to strategic planning and identification of new commercial opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with company policies and OH&S legislation.
- Stay current with cancer biology literature, preclinical models, and competitor IP.
The Requirements:
- Master’s or PhD in Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years’ postgraduate experience in cancer/cell biology.
- Hands-on experience with oncology xenograft studies and mouse tumour models.
- Proficiency in ELISA, FACS, SPR, and cell-based assays.
- Strong data analysis and scientific communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in a commercial biotech or pharmaceutical setting and a background in radiopharmaceutical development are desirable and will be highly regarded.
