Australia’s Cell and Gene Catalyst | Expert working group 2025 – EOI now open

Posted: 10 December 2024

Closes: 15 January 2025

While there is work ongoing – and this will continue with the current working groups through to the end of the year – the call for EOIs to serve on the 2025 Expert Working Groups is now open.

There will be four (4) working groups in 2025 – each will meet at different times and work to a different cadence. Each will continue with ongoing projects and/or develop new ones when they first meet in 2025. More information on the Catalyst is attached and more on the 2025 Working Groups is provided below.

Express your interest here: EOI form (11 Questions, 10 minutes max.)

Representing the broader ecosystem, the working groups contribute to Australia’s rapidly growing cell and gene industry in four priority areas:

  • Policy & Advocacy: has co-designed the Catalyst Strategic Advocacy Plan with a call for national collaboration, sustainable market access and funding pathways, regulatory alignment, capacity- & capability-building. Project: CGT Reimbursement Models.
  • Manufacturing (new in 2025): building on the National CG Manufacturing Blueprint, will work with all stakeholders to map, identify gaps and co-design a collaborative, coordinated cell and gene manufacturing pipeline to serve the nation.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge-Sharing: develops the Catalyst Engagement Framework including webinars and the Cell and Gene Summit at AusBiotech 2025 in Melbourne. Project: Establishing Communities of Practice.
  • Workforce Development: has co-designed the Catalyst Workforce Education & Training project. Professional areas in the cell and gene industry examined in this study include advanced manufacturing, the commercialisation value chain, research translation, clinical trials and healthcare. Project: ongoing.

Please note: One co-chair will be appointed to each group (the Catalyst Director will also co-chair). One observer will be appointed per working group – these roles are reserved for early-mid career professionals within the advanced therapies sector. The form is short, and a CV is not required.

EOIs will close in 5 weeks on Wednesday 15 January 2025 (COB). You will be notified of the outcome at the end of January and online meetings will begin in February.
