The recent tragedy of White Island in New Zealand is a challenging situation for all involved. The surgical and trauma teams in many hospitals across New Zealand and Australia have put in heroic efforts and hours to support these patients, many still in a critical condition.
PolyNovo has supplied NovoSorb BTM to three hospitals in New Zealand and two Australian Hospitals with the BTM providing the best opportunity for dermal repair.
There are further surgeries scheduled for the week ahead and our team will continue to work closely with the hospital teams. The surgical and nursing teams have established clinical expertise in the use of NovoSorb BTM ensuring the best clinical outcomes for these patients. We expect to supply more product in the coming weeks.
Following the tragedy of the Bali Bombings, it became clear that there existed an urgent need for a dermal scaffold not compromised by the susceptibility to infection that characterises biologic, animal-based products. NovoSorb BTM mitigates some of the serious challenges inherent in treating mass trauma and burns. PolyNovo we have a mission to assist in the improvement of patients lives and their clinical outcomes.
