St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne has now administered more than half a million COVID-19 vaccination doses across its vaccination programs with support from its newly-skilled workforce who have responded to the call to vaccinate and protect the Victorian community.
It has been almost 12 months since St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne began delivering COVID-19 vaccinations at the Royal Exhibition Building in March, 2021 as it became the state’s first high-volume vaccination centre.
As well as operating the State’s flagship vaccination hub at the Royal Exhibition Building, St Vincent’s again partnered with the Department of Health to deliver a Drive-Through Vaccination Centre in Campbellfield, working closely with the City of Hume to rapidly boost vaccination rates at a vital time during the Delta wave in 2021.
Consistent with our Mission, the Hospital has also developed a number of targeted initiatives including its mobile vaccination van, which hits the road to vaccinate those experiencing homelessness or those seeking asylum across Melbourne.
The St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Emergency Department also became one of the first in Australia to offer vaccines to those who were unlikely to receive the jab elsewhere, including marginalised and vulnerable groups, with vaccinations also offered to inpatients.

Retired Pharmacist Robin Lee was one of many who returned to the workforce to join St Vincent Hospital Melbourne’s vaccination effort, beginning his work at the Royal Exhibition Building in April 2021 and continuing to now work both there and at the Campbellfield Ford Complex.
“I felt a calling to join the vaccination effort when COVID was rampant and the vaccination program needed to quickly find a skilled and motivated workforce,” said Mr Lee, Pharmacist, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.
“It’s been really rewarding working with this tight-knit team made up of people from all ages and backgrounds who have all been determined to deliver the best possible outcome for the community,” concluded Mr Lee.
Vaccination hours (walk-ups welcome):
- Royal Exhibition Building – 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Sunday
- Campbellfield Ford Complex (drive-through or walk-through clinic) – 12:30pm to 7:30pm Tuesday and Thursday, and 8:30am to 3:30pm all other days
