Which are the next walls to fall?
veski and Deakin University are hosting the Falling Walls Lab Victoria in 2021 – a State run heat with selected applicants to compete at a national finale in Canberra – Falling Walls Lab Australia, hosted by the Australian Academy of Science.
Finalists from Falling Walls Lab Australia join 100 other Finalists from across the globe to compete in the Falling Walls Lab Finale.

Established 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Falling Walls is a global event dedicated to supporting science and the humanities.
In November of each year, innovative minds from around the world converge at Falling Walls, Berlin, Germany. Leaders from politics, science, the arts and business gather to discuss global challenges and their innovative responses.

Three minutes is all it takes! Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and stepping stone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students, researchers, and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally.
The multifaceted formats support participants in driving their innovations and develop their communication skills, fostering collaboration and creating a space for impactful and sustainable communities to thrive.
Each year, renowned academic institutions around the world host their own Falling Walls Lab to showcase the quality, diversity, and passion of their region’s most innovative minds. In three minutes each, participants try to convince a high-calibre jury of their solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
The Falling Walls Lab is organised by the Falling Walls Foundation and generously funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Berlin-Senate, Google, and Huawei. It is supported by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Finalists from Falling Walls Lab Victoria will be invited to participate at the Australian finale, hosted by the Australian Academy of Science, with Falling Walls Lab Australia finalists able to engage with a rare audience to which they can share their dream of a better world through science and social change.
The Australian Academy of Science is pleased to host the sixth Falling Walls Lab Australia in partnership with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Canberra, and EURAXESS Australia and New Zealand.
Falling Walls Labs are organised by independent partners of Falling Walls Foundation and are held in locations across the globe with the winners from each Lab being invited to present at the Falling Walls Lab global finale – Falling Walls Pitch, Berlin on the 7 November 2021.
Falling Walls Lab Victoria is hosted by veski in partnership with Deakin University.
