7 July 2020
OMX Solutions Pty Ltd is delighted to announce the inclusion of its’ latest custom-made medical device (CMMD), the TriFixTM plating system, on the Prostheses List. The Prosthesis List and TriFixTM plating systems listing becomes effective on 1 July 2020. The news follows on from the March inclusion of the TriFixTM plates in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) published by the Australian Therapeutic Good Administration (TGA).
The TriFixTM plating system is a custom designed medical device used for the fixation of craniomaxillofacial (CMF) fractures and osteotomies for both reconstructive and cosmetic purposes. Product benefits include its custom anatomical design and fit and the OMX Solutions’ TriFixTM triple fixation technology. The TriFix plates offer greater strength compared to an off-the-shelf pre-bent CMF plate and can also be used to avoid using a fibula graft.
The intended use of the individually designed custom-made plate is for the fixation of fractures and osteotomies of both the maxilla and mandible. The system includes a custom-made, Titanium Ti-6AI-4V (Grade 5), fixation plate, fixation screws, a drill bit, driver blade and handle.
