Melbourne Bioinformatics delivers bioinformatics, data services, and infrastructure capabilities for life sciences. Based in the heart of Melbourne's Biomedical Precinct at the University of Melbourne, our team of over 35 expert bioinformaticians and computing specialists are available to consult about research design; grant writing; data management and curation; compute options; and, clinical application of next generation sequencing techniques. Our team collaborates on major local, national, and international projects including Melbourne Genomics, Australian Genomics, the Pan-Prostate Genomics Consortium and is a lead agent in the implementation of microbial genomics techniques into the global public health system. Through a contract with Bioplatforms Australia, we also host the EMBL Australia Bioinformatics Resource, delivering the essential network and infrastructure to support life science as a data science across Australia.
