"Hudson Institute of Medical Research is an NHMRC accredited, not-for-profit, independent medical research institute located in Clayton, Victoria.
The Institute is a result of the 2014 merger of two of Australia’s most trusted names in medical research, Monash Institute of Medical Research (MIMR) and Prince Henry’s Institute (PHI).
It has a combined 75 years of research experience, more than 450 leading researchers and postgraduate students, an annual budget of more than $45m and state-of-the-art research platforms and facilities.
Through its six-specialised research centres (Cancer; Genetic Diseases; Immunity; Inflammation and Infectious Diseases; Fetal, Neonatal, Children’s and Women’s Health; and Endocrinology and Metabolism), the Institute seeks to respond to Australia’s key health priorities.
The Institute has strong working partnerships with both Monash Health and Monash University.
The opening of the $84 million Monash Translational Health Precinct in late 2015 will co-locate the Hudson Institute with these partners, allowing its researchers to better leverage the practical knowledge of their clinician partners to more readily convert their discoveries into patient treatments."
