The Company

Our client is a leading Australian-owned Clinical Research Organisation specialising in end-to-end services for clinical trial design and execution. In addition to their clinical and regulatory affairs service offerings, they also have in-house biostatistics experts who translate data into meaningful insights for their clients. These include global partners in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical devices industries, across a range of therapeutic areas and clinical stages.

The Opportunity

As Team Leader, Biostatistics, you will oversee all biostatistics and statistical programming activities and support the Head of Biostatistics. You will lead, coach, and work closely with the Biostatistics and Statistical Programming team, providing guidance, expertise, and mentoring in a way that reflects and contributes to a positive team culture.

  • Assist organising work assignments in a manner that maximises percentage billability of the BSP teams.
  • Planning and execution of Statistics projects in line with Accelagen SOPs and other processes collaborating with clients, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform the duties of a Senior Biostatistician and/or Senior Statistical Programmer as required.
  • Provide technical expertise and solutions to the Biostatistics Teams, colleagues, clients, and external and internal stakeholders as required, to solve problems, improve efficiency, or improve quality.
  • Actively contribute to Business Development activities as appropriate, e.g., TLF estimates, participation in client meetings and bid defence meetings.
  • Provide guidance to biostatisticians and statistical programmers during the preparation and review of programming documentation, as required (e.g., annotated CRFs, programming specifications, reviewer guides, define.xml files).

Position Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the importance of high-quality customer service delivery withing the CRO industry.
  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Biostatistics, Biometrics, or other related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience working as a biostatistician, ideally in the CRO industry or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge of statistics applicable to clinical trials and research data complemented by strong technical skills in statistical analysis, process, and programming processes.
  • Expert knowledge of CDISC and of GCP regulatory environment of statistics.
