Software Technical Lead

At Nutromics we have a vision to create a world with zero preventable deaths by providing timely, molecular level data through our innovative sensing technology. We are looking for a passionate Software technical lead who will lead a team of software engineers focussed on the commercialisation of our technology.

In this exciting role, you will lead Nutromics’ software development team. You will play a hands-on role in architecting and building the foundations of Nutromics’ software platform, which will securely aggregate and analyse data from wearable sensors and display it to clinicians in well-designed user interfaces built using UX and UI best practices.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent discipline

Skill and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience building and managing cross-functional software development teams to achieve successful business outcomes
  • 6+ years of experience in software development for medical devices, digital health, and/or IoT products
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining cloud infrastructure
  • Experience in coding, unit testing, deployment, and configuration of solutions involving the customisation of, and integration of various services
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, finance, military)
  • Experience working with UI and UX experts
  • Working knowledge of back-end and front-end development, analysis software, and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Excellent written and oral communication and relationship building capabilities
  • Exposure to scientific research, especially in biosensors, is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Design and document software architecture for security, scalability, reliability and interoperability
  • Work closely with management to make intelligent technology and resourcing choices to meet business objectives
  • Lead the development team to implement major features coming from the research and product teams, fostering a spirit of collaboration within and between teams
  • Working with the team, provide time estimates and meet delivery commitments
  • Create effective processes for software development and maintenance that enforce levels of quality assurance and quality control appropriate for a manufacturer of medical devices
  • Mentor and train the development team, ensuring that their skills are progressively deepened and expanded, and that best practices are being leveraged
  • Manage project and system risk, ensuring that potential issues are bought to the attention of management as soon as practical
  • Ensure that software development process complies with requirements of ISO 13485 and IEC 62304
  • Document software code in accordance with generally accepted best practice
  • Provision and manage cloud-based software environments
