The Client

An ASX-listed biotechnology company seeking to improve the lives of patients suffering from neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease and Major Depressive Disease. They are currently transitioning from an early-stage drug discovery company to a global leader in drug development, having grown the size of their team by 40% over the previous two years. Their goal is to ultimately improve the lives of patients by developing novel and effective treatments for these and other related neurological diseases.

The Opportunity

Working as a project manager with our client, you will report directly to the Senior VP, Product Development, and ultimately be responsible for managing all aspects of their assigned projects within a growing organisation. You will successfully deliver the project requirements by driving team and financial efficiency, ensuring the quality of the work produced meets the business’ needs during this pivotal stage of its transition. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop key Project Management Plans, inclusive of project charter, project schedule, project budget, detailed work plans, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Develop key milestones, deliverables and documentation related to the project schedule, project budget, and quality standards.
  • Drive and provide project management support for internal business processes.
  • Align internal business needs and expectations with external vendors/partners.
  • Advise senior management of resource requirements/adjustments as necessary to ensure continued project success.
  • Track and manage timelines for projects across various stakeholders identifying interdependencies, milestones, and risks.

The Requirements

  • Education equivalent to at least a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or business-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, CRO or related industry role.
  • Strong, demonstrable experience managing biotech or pharmaceutical projects or programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other project management tools and applications.
  • Functional knowledge of clinical study lifecycles, workflows, and processes.
  • Enthusiastic approach to working as part of a dynamic team in a growing organisation.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent highly regarded.

Total remuneration includes an attractive base salary, access to both short-term and long-term incentives through ESOP, and bonuses paid annually.

This role can be based anywhere in Australia. You will be expected to visit on-site in Sydney every 6 weeks for up to a week at a time.
