14-15 November Non-Complex Wheeled Mobility & Seating

This workshop will demonstrate how to assess the functional and postural needs of wheeled mobility users.

It will combine slide presentations, case studies and practical hands-on sessionswith each other and with equipment. In addition to the presentation handouts, attendeeswill also receive copies of assessment tools. Equipment used in the workshops is for thepurpose of consolidating assessment skills and knowledge. It is not the intention of theworkshop to outline all equipment options nor recommend specific product.

Please bring a rug or yoga mat and tools to adjust wheelchairs/seating.

Suggested tools – imperial and metric allen keys, 5 inch & 10 inch (or bigger for rear axle nuts)adjustable crescents, 7/16, ½,3/4, 10mm, 11mm, 13mm ring spanners.

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided.

16-17 November Complex Wheelchair Seating

This workshop will combine slide presentations, case studies and practical hands-on sessionsover the two days.

People living with disability will be invited to support our learning bybeing available for a practical MAT evaluation session. Participants will be asked to develop acase study to present to the group at the end of day 2.

In addition to the presentation handouts, attendees will also receive copies of assessmenttools. Equipment used in the workshops is for the purpose of consolidating assessment skillsand knowledge. It is not the intention of the workshop to outline all equipment options norrecommend specific product.

Please bring a rug or yoga mat and tools to adjust seating.

Suggested tools – imperial and metric allen keys, adjustable crescents or 7/16, ½,3/4, 10mm, 11mm,13mm ring spanners, tape measure, goniometer, inclinometer (can be mobile app)

18 November Specialised Manual Wheelchairs
