Our Client

WEHI is one of Australia’s leading and pre-eminent biomedical research organisations at the forefront of innovation. WEHI is establishing a human research and clinical translation team (HRCT) to facilitate the institute’s discovery and clinical translation goals. The HRCT will have an important role in providing expert advice and guidance in navigating clinical, ethical and regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity

Your key remit will be to develop WEHI’s capabilities in undertaking and managing human-based research, including patient samples, data and clinical trials, and work with other departments at WEHI to streamline clinical operations (incorporating compliance, governance and legal). The Manager will also supervise, mentor and develop the capabilities of the three clinical research coordinators.

The Requirements

• Qualifications in a clinically related field with a strong background in clinical research in a hospital or academic setting, pharma/biotech industry, or a Contract Research Organisation.
• Significant experience in the coordination of human-related research, including experience in the set-up and conduct of investigator-led and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
