The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and driven Genomics Product Manager to join their team.  The Genomics Product Manager is a unique position where you will play a key role in the marketing, sales and technical support of specific genomics product lines.  Working closely with the Program Director – Genomics, the sales team and other key staff, you will develop and implement marketing and sales programs as well as participate significantly in customer training.

  • Assist to develop & implement marketing strategies and tactics to promote genomics product lines.
  • Technical product presentations to researchers
  • Provide technical training and support to customers
  • Represent the company at conferences and trade shows
  • Create positioning messages and ad concepts for new and existing products.
  • Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Participate in sales calls to customers
  • Monitor competitor products.
  • Product demonstrations of selected products

Position Requirements

  • A Ph.D/Masters/Honours degree in Life Sciences or related field and previous laboratory experience in molecular biology/genomics methods.
  • Specific skill set could include: NGS library prep and sequencing, Sanger sequencing, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, qPCR, RNAi, FISH,CRISPR, Tissue analysis and spatial biology methods.
  • Specific product suppliers & platforms use may have included: 10x Genomics, PacBio, Nanostring, Oxford Nanopore, Illumina sequencing
  • Given the highly technical product range, qualification to PhD level is considered an advantage.
  • Sales or Customer Service/ Inside Sales experience in the Life Science market an advantage – preferably with instrument experience.
  • Candidates with commercial experience/aptitude with no direct industry experience will be considered.
  • A well-developed technical approach with a desire to learn new technologies.
  • Well-developed understanding of the commercial realities of selling in the life science market.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • A willingness and ability to engage customers at all levels.
