The Opportunity
You will serve as the technical expert person within the team, acting as the liaison between physicians and the company regarding technical matters primarily for clinical projects (e.g. implant and follow-up support, troubleshooting and clinical studies.)
Develop and maintain up-to-date scientific, quality, regulatory and technical knowledge.
Help identify new technologies and new directions for existing technology, as well as changes in clinical practices.
Product Development
Provide feedback on existing or new products as required.
Coordinate user’s feedback sessions (physicians, nurses, etc) as required.
Training/Education
Support internal and external customers training sessions related to our technology and products (lectures, product demonstration, etc.).
Support physicians in understanding technology and products (e.g. Literature Searches).
Disseminate information/knowledge gained by participating at conferences.
Field Technical support
Provide support to organization for device implants and follow-ups.
Respond to and document field technical problems.
Work with other company functions (e.g. R&D, Regulatory, Quality) to report and address product issues.
Troubleshoot field technical problems.
Follow-up with reported technical issues.
Help disseminate problem and solution to clinic personnel and field colleagues.
Attend weekly conference calls or technical updates as needed.
Frequent travel required (up to 80% on some weeks), including travel abroad to support colleagues (up to 50% on some weeks).
Review protocols, study plans, IP management plans, CSRs and all trial-related documentation.
Position Requirements
Field experience in supporting medical devices (OR, Cath Lab, Clinic), interacting with physicians and patients (min of 2 years).
Experience with Active Implantable Medical Devices and supporting clinical studies is an asset.
Medical/biomedical background (RN/Engineer/PhD/MD, etc.) or relevant previous experience.
Experience with Active Implantable Medical Devices an advantage.
Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written; flexibility to adapt to communicating across all stakeholder groups.
Team player with a positive constructive attitude to solve problems. Eager to learn, stress resistant, strong self-development abilities and able to work independently.
