The Client is a biotechnology company based in Australia that is working to progress the development of a range of novel therapeutic compounds for the treatment of substance use disorders and other CNS conditions. The company has licensed these compounds with the lead candidate demonstrating potent anti-addictive and prosocial effects.

The Opportunity

The client is seeking a new Drug Development Associate to support their continued growth and development. Your main remit will be to provide support for the planning, execution, monitoring and completion of the company’s drug development programs.

The successful applicant will be required to communicate and cooperate with contract research organizations and provide assistance to the coordination of development activities, and will work closely with the CEO, CSO and the VP Drug Development, with potential for increased responsibility and autonomy as they become more familiar with the various programs.

  • Perform in-depth analysis, assessments, and gap analysis of the key drug development areas.
  • Coordinate the compilation, publication, and periodic updates of the company’s Development Plan.
  • Establish and maintain the company’s project plans for all aspects of the development program.
  • Coordinate the preparation and finalization of the monthly development update, including board updates.
  • Preparation of meeting agendas, recording of meeting minutes and dissemination of project information.
  • Prepare, maintain, and publish the company’s development risk register.
  • Produce and communicate effective market intelligence and competitor analysis.
  • Assist with development of corporate partnering and business development presentations.
  • Lead and manage the establishment of our client’s corporate website.
  • Provide support for the introduction, improvement and updating of critical company business systems.
  • Identification, analysis & provide support for the preparation and submission of grant applications.

Your Experience

  • Higher degree in a relevant scientific discipline; molecular biology, chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and/or toxicology
  • Broad perspective of therapeutic areas and the global pharmaceutical competitive environment
  • An understanding of the drug development process
  • Advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft Project (or equivalent)
  • Ability to identify problems and find solutions or escalate appropriately “can-do” attitude
  • Strong research skills, flexibility, eagerness to learn and undertake new tasks
  • Proven ability to contribute at a technical level to multiple programs simultaneously
  • Experience in strategic planning, development of customised plans and decision analysis
  • Experience in developing, managing, and controlling cross functional project budgets and timelines
