An exciting opportunity to join the leadership team at OccuRx, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on innovative therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with inflammation and fibrosis.

OccuRx is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative therapeutic strategies for the treatment of ocular inflammation and fibrosis. OccuRx has identified and validated a series of lead candidates against novel drug targets and established preclinical proof of concept to treat and prevent ocular fibrosis. The Company has leveraged these proprietary small molecule drugs to address the unmet clinical need for more targeted ocular therapies to enhance visual acuity and prevent vision loss in rare and degenerative eye diseases. The Company is currently in the clinical stage of development, with capital support from Brandon Capital Partners, The Medical Research Commercialisation Fund (MRCF) and Uniseed.

About the role:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the operational and R&D activities of the Company with the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, under the governance of the Board of Directors.  You will work alongside the Management Team to implement and improve systems, processes, and practices in support of the Company’s Business and R&D strategies.

About you:

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, experience executive who is able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • PhD and/or MD qualification in medical or life sciences;
  • Formal business qualifications, or success in previous operational roles;
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience in a technology transfer and/or an operational/project management commercial role within a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company;
  • Highly organised, attentive to details and achievement driven;
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships;
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder engagement;
  • Highly adept at problem solving and decision making processes

The position will be based out of our Melbourne office, with work from home flexibility.
