Nominations close 30 September 2020
Join us in celebration of our life science leaders who are championing the sector and the Australian community through the worst pandemic and greatest collaboration seen in the sector.
As the world has changed in response to COVID-19, the biotechnology industry has played a critical role guiding and inspiring us locally and shining a light on Australia globally as a leader. Behind these critical and timely responses are people and companies that inspire their workforce, their State, and their nation. The responses we have witnessed, creative projects and pivots delivered, and inspiring leaders seeking positive solutions has been a truly remarkable illumination of the importance of our sector to the health, well-being and economic security of all Australians within a very difficult year.
Australia’s considered and concerted efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID19 prevents us from physically uniting in 2020 to celebrate our sector’s leading lights. However, in recognition of the extraordinary contribution the biotechnology and life sciences ecosystem has delivered to Australia’s COVID19 response, the 2020 AusBiotech and Johnson & Johnson Innovation Industry Excellence Awards will instead recognise, reward and celebrate those leading lights in our country’s COVID19 response.
To do this, we’ll be recognising the unsung heroes in white and blue coats who are making meaningful contributions to, or whose achievements or response has significantly impacted patient improvements, Australian public health, or the Australian biotechnology industry.
Finalists and their stories will be featured in the lead up to AusBiotech + Invest 2020 and awardees will be announced on Thursday 29 October during AusBiotech + Invest 2020.
Nominations of key opinion leaders or teams working in medical research, companies, and organisations involved in COVID-19 responses are now open and invited in the following categories.
COVID19 life science sector innovation award – universities, research institutes, companies, industry associations and government organisations working to accelerate novel technologies and treatments for the management of COVID19;
COVID19 life science sector collaboration award – – universities, research institutes, companies, industry associations and government organisations collaborating to deliver a product or service for the management of COVID19;
COVID19 communication leaders’ award – Key Opinion Leaders who have been called upon to communicate complex scientific information to the Australian public including about the importance of public health measures.
Industry’s choice award: AusBiotech members can vote for their choice of shortlisted nominees across these 3 categories which they believe have had the greatest impact promoting Australia’s biotech sector internationally.
