The CRC for Cancer Therapeutics (CTX) is a leading Public Private Partnership focused on translating Australia’s world-class biomedical research into next-generation drugs to treat a variety of cancers. With funding from the Commonwealth Government’s Co-operative Research Centres Program and partnerships with some of Australia’s leading Universities, Medical Research Institutes and Hospitals, CTX is one of Australia’s pre-eminent oncology drug development organisations.
We are seeking a commercial lawyer, patent attorney or paralegal, ideally with a science background and or experience in the biotechnology sector. The person will have a high level of confidence and experience in reviewing a variety of legal agreements including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, service agreements, collaborative research agreements, license agreements and company establishment documentation. The successful applicant would also be expected to assist with the management of intellectual property and contribute to discussions regarding corporate structuring.
To be successful in this position you will possess highly-developed skills, expertise and confidence in reviewing and drafting a variety of legal documents and a good understanding of intellectual property. You will have a science background or prior experience working in the biotechnology, medtech or pharmaceutical areas and a willingness to learn and contribute to CTX’s vision of becoming a self-sustaining virtual biotechnology company.
This position offers a high degree of flexibility and as such the successful applicant will be highly self-motivated, possess outstanding time-management skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
This position is 12-month part-time with the opportunity to extend. There is a four-month probation period. Remuneration will be consistent with skills and experience.
