Our speakers, Dr Elaine Saunders Managing Director Blamey Saunders Hears and Dr Megan Baldwin CEO Circadian Technologies will provide distinct perspectives from different points on the pathway, from early in the positioning process to accessing global markets.

About the Speakers

Dr Elaine Saunders, Managing Director, Blamey Saunders Hears

Managing Director Dr. Elaine Saunders is an award-winning businesswoman, audiologist and academic. Her accolades include being awarded Asia’s Leading Woman in Healthcare in 2011, the Victorian Pearcey Entrepreneur Award in 2011, and the American Academy of Audiology’s Award for Achievement in Industry in 2010. Elaine was awarded the 2012 Melbourne Award for Contribution to Community by an Individual.

Dr Megan Baldwin, CEO, Circadian Technologies

Dr Megan Baldwin was appointed CEO and Managing Director of Circadian Technologies in February 2014. Dr Baldwin has over 18 years of experience focussing on angiogenesis and therapeutic strategies for cancer and ophthalmic indications. Dr Baldwin joined Circadian in 2008 and has held various positions, including Head of Preclinical R&D and Chief Executive Officer of Opthea Pty Ltd, the 100% owned subsidiary of Circadian, developing OPT-302 for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration. Prior to joining Circadian, she was employed at Genentech (now Roche) where she spent several years as a researcher in the group of leading angiogenesis expert Napoleone Ferrara, before moving to Genentech’s commercial division and market planning department. Dr Baldwin holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Melbourne, having conducted her doctoral studies at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research where she was involved in the development of intellectual property that is owned by Circadian.
