Peter Lewis is an accomplished senior executive with over 25 years’ experience leading growth strategies for technology based companies to global markets. Having variously lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the US, leading organisations ranging from startups to multinationals to government agencies, Peter has deep hands-on experience across technology, venture capital, R&D, business development, innovation, international trade & investment, diplomacy and lobbying.
At Hydrix, a premier designer of medical devices and laboratory instrumentation, Peter is a member of the Board and leads business development for the company’s activities across Australia and internationally.
Prior to Hydrix, Peter held a series of senior roles in Corporate and International Business Development with CSIRO and as Senior Trade Commissioner and Consul-General with Austrade in its Silicon Valley office, leading their global Biotech and ICT trade strategies.
Peter has previously been on the Board of the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Industry Association (AVCAL) and is a Founder and past Director of both the Churchill Club Australia – the largest community of technologists, entrepreneurs and innovators in Australia – and Anzatechnet, Australia’s premier international association for technology companies.
Peter is an Electrical Engineer by training and has an MBA as well as having undertaken executive courses at Stanford and INSEAD.
Peter was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) on the Australia Day Honours list in 2015 for his services to International Trade, Biotechnology and ICT. He has also recently been added as a member to the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
